Outreach Ministry at Miravida Living

Oshkosh is a great place to live for people of all ages including people living at Miravida Living.  Our residents take seriously their commitment to strengthen the Oshkosh community by sharing joy and wonder beyond the Miravida Living campus.

A few highlights from our community outreach include;

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s:

The world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research, it raises the level of awareness in our community and brings people together to support research for a cure. On September 21, the Miravida Living team including their families, friends and pets walked to support the event and raised $3,646. The Oshkosh event exceeded its 2019 goal, raising a total of $40,796.

Feeding Hungry Kids Campaign:

Throughout the month of August, several churches came together to offset the gap in the free lunches offered at school and “feed hungry kids.  Residents and staff at Miravida Living prepared lunches, volunteered at every site for every shift and visited with children sharing smiles and rubbing their full tummies.

Health and Wellness Fair:

Miravida Living hosted a Health and Wellness Fair for the Oshkosh community. The event provided attendees with the opportunity to browse services and engage in health and wellness conversationsThe morning began with a presentation by Keynote Speaker Joanne Murphy-Spice, Winnebago County Healthy Aging Programs Coordinator. Learning a way of living not defined by age or abilities but filled with possibilities and opportunities.  A way of living supported by the work of Miravida Living.

A community is more than just a group of people living together. A community is a group of people who share life together. Miravida Living residents and staff giving their time and talents makes a positive impact on others throughout the Oshkosh community while enriching their lives with fulfilling experiences.
