Our focus is on crafting moments of connection, joy, and delight – all of which enrich the lives of our elders. Come and experience the unique atmosphere at Miravida, where we’ve been creating these cherished moments since 1963.

A LEGACY OF LOVE

Miravida Living, founded in 1963 by local church leaders in Oshkosh, is a senior living community deeply rooted in history. While it has evolved, the core value of sharing God’s love with elders remains steadfast. In recent years, we’ve transitioned away from physical expansion plans, prioritizing exceptional services and extraordinary experiences for our residents. This shift fuels our creativity and inspires elder-centered programs. Today, our focus is on creating meaningful moments of connection and joy for those we serve.

THE LEADERSHIP TEAM

Every step marked by wonder, inquiry, learning, fostering unique relationships, sparking creativity, and deep trust. It’s a generative process, shifting awareness, changing perceptions, and shaping the future.

We’ve fundamentally changed our approach, redefining excellence, prioritizing creativity, big ideas, innovation, and action. Our momentum is fueled by the belief in better ways to serve our elders’ preferences, making life at Miravida Living a source of inspiration for future possibilities.

THE MIRAVIDA STORY

THE BEGINNING

Founded in 1963, leaders from Oshkosh area churches assembled the resources to establish a facility that would share God’s love, respond to the changing needs of the community and reach out to people in need. And so began a strong partnership of meeting community needs.

OUR TRANSFORMATION

For over 50 years, Lutheran Homes of Oshkosh has served the needs of elders, provided peace of mind for their loved ones and offered meaningful, purposeful work for its employees. We have been known for our leadership in creating new approaches to care, and we are often first to introduce new options for apartment living, assisted living, skilled nursing and rehabilitative care, and dementia care.

THOUGHTFUL EXPERIENCES

In recent years, we have moved away from brick and mortar expansion plans. We’re focused on our services and providing our residents opportunities for extraordinary experiences. This fundamental shift has ignited creativity and inspired the launch of programs with an approach centered on our elders. Today, our work is about creating moments of connection and joy.

A CHANGE IN NAME

Our shift in thinking resulted in the need for a name change. We needed a name that captures the spirit of innovation, describes – without defining – life with us and inspires possibilities going forward. Our search for just the right name led to the creation of a new word. Miravida emerged. “Mir” is a Latin root word meaning curiosity and wonder. “Vi” is Latin for life.
