Sounds of Summer at Miravida Living

“Music is the space between the notes.” – Claude Debussy, French composer The sound of music floats through the air at Eden Meadows during lively percussion circles on the patio. Spending a day in the sunshine in the company of good friends and good music is a great way to enjoy a Wisconsin summer! Music therapies, like drum circles and reverie harps, are some of the many ways we care for the mind, body, and spirits of our elders. We’re making plans to develop and implement Touching Spirits, a comprehensive program of integrative care modalities that will include music therapy, Healing Touch, aromatherapy, Sign Chi Do, and more. Music helps people with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and other memory impairments increase or maintain their physical, mental, social, and emotional functioning. Research published in Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience found people processed information faster and remembered more when listening to classical music. Music stimulates the senses and the mind to improve quality of life! What memories do you have involving music? Share a positive one on our Facebook page!
