A Bond Beyond the Classroom

When Destiny L. first stepped onto the Miravida Living campus as a CNA student, he was eager to learn clinical skills and gain experience caring for others. What he discovered went far deeper.

During his time at Miravida, Destiny not only grew in knowledge—learning the rhythms of care, the nuances of communication, and the trust that builds between caregivers and residents—but he also formed a lasting friendship with one of our residents, Lorraine S. Their connection, built through shared conversations and simple moments of presence, became one of mutual joy and respect.

After completing the CNA course and working with Miravida for several years, Destiny moved to Milwaukee to continue his education in Medical Technology at Ascension St. Francis Hospital. Yet, even as his studies and career path take him forward, he continues to carry the lessons and relationships formed here.

When his schedule allows, Destiny makes the trip back to Oshkosh to visit—and recently, he coordinated to have lunch with Lorraine.

At Miravida Living, stories like Destiny’s remind us that healthcare is not only about developing medical insight or building clinical expertise—it’s about the heart of service. It’s about relationships that withstand time and distance. These bonds, rooted in compassion, continue to inspire both those who give care and those who receive it.

We wish Destiny continued success in his studies and career—and we’re grateful he remains part of the Miravida family.
