As part of their Health & Human Services Day in October, Youth Leadership Oshkosh spent the afternoon at Miravida Living, exploring what it means to serve others through careers in senior living.
Led by Julie Maslowski, Director of Senior Living, and her team, students experienced a full and engaging program designed to open their eyes to the many ways they can make a difference in the lives of older adults. From learning about career paths in healthcare—including CNA opportunities available to high school students—to hearing stories from professionals who serve with heart, the day was filled with meaningful connections and hands-on discovery.
The visit wrapped up with a highlight—Trishaw rides across the Miravida campus, giving students a glimpse of the joy and freedom these rides bring to residents.

One student reflected,
“Health and Human Services Day taught me empathy. It helped me understand how lonely the elderly can become from staying at home alone all day and the importance of senior homes and the impact they have on them.”
At Miravida Living, we’re honored to be part of shaping future leaders who see the value of connection, compassion, and community in caring for others.
